One Month, Nine Cities: A Meaningful Summer of Professional Development!

Alhamdulillah, I recently completed an exciting three-week stretch of in-person professional development across nine cities: Louisville, KY; Chicago, IL; Raleigh, NC; Dallas, TX; Cleveland, OH; Richmond, VA; Baltimore, MD; Minneapolis, MN; and Kansas City, MO. Topics varied, from multiple complete FITRAH Framework trainings, to integrating Islam across curriculum, working with parents, active learning, discipline, positive school staff culture, and more.

It was a busy few weeks, but also an incredibly fulfilling experience. I had the opportunity to meet and reconnect with so many educators, engage in thoughtful conversations, hear about the work happening in schools across different communities, and see firsthand the enthusiasm educators continue to bring to their own professional growth. That energy was genuinely re-energizing for me as well, and I am grateful for every school and educator who welcomed me into their community.

The busy professional development season is not over yet, although the next stretch includes more virtual sessions and a little less time in airports! I’m looking forward to continuing these conversations and supporting schools and individual educators throughout the year, insha’Allah.
